Prashanth is an ecologist by training and has worked in the field of human animal conflict and people’s dependence on protected areas. Over the last two years, he has actively enabled the implementation of state laws to prevent the abuse of animals in circuses. As part of FIAPO’s End Circus Suffering Campaign, Prashanth has helped secure the release of more than 160 circus animals. The campaign has also been successful in mobilizing 43 organisations and more than 110 activists across 16 states to take action on circuses using animals illegally. Information from such actions has been collated into a dossier ratified by all members of the Federation, with a strong recommendation for ban on use of all animals from circuses.
